where do i sell a tag watch?

i have recently inherited a tag watch that has been valued at �800. Will i get the valuation price for it?? and where do i need to go to sell it??/ local jewellers?

would ebay be worth a try? ive been told that i will never get 800 for it there though?

Ebay might be worth a try - put a big reserve on it though.


You won't get the valuation price. That's the price your local jeweller would LIKE to sell it for if he's not forced to discount the price. I may be being over-pessimistic but you'll be lucky to get half.

Who did the valuation? Was it done for probate? If it was, it should have been the price which the deceased could have expected to get for it on the day they died. If this is the case and the valuer is a trader they might be prepared to buy it at that price.

You will not get valuation price in a jewellers and risky to put it in a local paper displaying you have a high value watch in your property.


Ebay is good so long as you can prove the watch is original and you have valuation papers.


Other than keeping it, I should imagine it's nice to wear an �800 watch.
