Have you tried stuffing them with damp newspapers? Works with bog standard leather shoes.

Will do, worth a try, many thanks Grandma

I used the damp newspaper trick on some boots. It worked well.
patent leather outer won't stretch, it's the type of coating process.
That's a good point!
the patent will crack if you try to stretch it.
you are better putting a half insole in to lift your foot up and back away from the peep if it is there where it is rubbing you

Stylax, if I were in England I would buy another pair!

Ta Dot I was hoping I could reuse these ones I bought last year from next but, it was cold in May and a 4 and a half fitted well at the time, killing me now, will have to go back to those soft soled clarks you told me about !
there are products available from cobblers that are sprays and will with repeated use help leather to soften and stretch, but it will not work on patent, patent is used to make a shoe hold it's shape, which is why it is great for peep toes.

Knew I couod rely on you Dotty for advice, it's a new pair of clarks when I get to England then.
Get the milkman to wear them
It's what they used to do on the days way back when
