Facebook Help Needed

Please remember I am illiterate when it comes to technical bits.
I am trying to find some one who I haven't heard from for over 4 years. So I decided to join face book to look for her.
I gave my details and when it came to the next bit it asked for my email password. I thought this odd as with my password they could access my emails, I put it in anyway making a mental note to change it as soon I could. It said invalid, so what do I have to do to get in? Please, what am I doing wrong.

Would you like me to create a throwaway email address for you and sign you up and send you details of it, then all you have to do is change the passwords on the email and a Facebook?

Shar your email account is not working. I have sent it 3 times from 2 different addy's and they bounce back.

Shar, finally managed to get on. I tried to change the password but it said it would send the link to your addy. Don't worry about it though I'll stick with the one you chose. I will only be using it to try and find an old friend. When I can find my way around that is. She is probably not even on there. Like me she is a dinosaur when it comes to techy stuff.

Well let me know. You ought to be able to go into options on your email account and change the default recovery email from mine to another of yours, then you can change your password and they'll send the confirmation through to whichever mail you choose. anyway glad you managed to get on. Let me know if you need anything else:)
