Panama hats, cool pints, sun-block,and other summer necessities don't come cheap. Why isn't this goverment doing more to help people, like myself, who are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet?
sandy......completely logical. OK we may not need an allowance for the winter, but air conditioning is needed in the summer......so why not a summer "cool" allowance?
Don't forget the Pimms and the mojitos.
"Difficult to make ends meet"? Shouldn't have spent all that money on elephants and dodgy KikiFrog charities, Sandy.
I'm in total egreement with you sandy, have you seen the price of a decent Panama these days? Trish has been giving mine that "its time that went in the bin" look she doesnt seem to realise how long it takes to get a hat looking right. Add the cost of ice cold cider, wine meat for the barbecue and it makes one wander how we're going to make ends meet.
it was the heat, why else would it happen? i'd just driven into work for 11 o'clock in the 74 degree sun all the way up the M6 and the store temp was about the same and then i was up and down the stepladders for nearly an hour changing some POS.
Thanks to the rotten last couple of Summers, I seem to have a good stock of bottles of Pimms, which are rapidly depleting. Don't forget there's the price of the strawberries to go in the Pimms, I can pick the mint, if I cared to roll out of the hammock!
Are you in Preston next week, dotty because I'm passing through and will spend an hour there. If you are I may call in to WH Smith - I can't remember the day though- wednesday or Thursday- so I'll have to check my diary
factor I am hopefully back in tuesday through til saturday as long as i get no more attacks, i'm on the retail park out of town though not the city centre store. what are you in preston for?
It's true that I did have to sell some of my dwindling number of shares in order to buy the replacement elephant. But of all the good deeds I've done that stands head and shoulders above the rest. I like to think of that elephant providing the power to lift her, her father, indeed all the people of her village, out of poverty.
