Mazie, I'm not trying to..wouldn't dare!!
hc ..Don was Irish! and the red dots were massive and this was his plan to get rid of her - he was completely crazy. (well spotted!!).
Not fish finger sandwiches, (which I also love) but can we all get together and stop Asda buying in this River Cobber fish.
It's a 'dirty' fish, from Vietnam.
Nasty grey fleshed fish, they put alongside haddock, I bought it once, NEVER AGAIN, no way should we be importing this fish.
:D
Ferlew...River Cobber fish - when you say dirty - what do you mean exactly?

Asda are likely to have a demand for it. I dont understand why you think they shouldn't import it?
I adore fish finger butties made with fresh Warburtons bread and proper butter -BUT the fish fingers are Birds Eye Haddock ones. More expensive than so called cod ones but superior in every way
I certainly will not eat Vietnamese cobbler (also called panga and basa). Apart from being tasteless and rather mushy it can be farmed in toxic waters. As it is a catfish it is a 'bottom feeder' and will eat carrion that may be poisoned.

Some people are highly allergic to it - there have been instances where people believing they were eating cod react very badly after one mouthful.

I must admit I am dubious about the prawns from Vietnam as well. I don't like prawns very much though.

As for Basa. I tried it once and never again (from Morrisons)
It was so called 'smoked' basa, i.e. artificially coloured and given a smoky flavour as a lot of 'smoked' fish is these days!
Yuk
