About 30 mins ago, a wren dropped through the skylight of my caravan
here in Cornwall. I opened all the windows and the doors but he stubbornly refused to go. So I picked him, very gently and put in on the ground in the hedge alongside. But he is now just sitting there and not showing any inclination to fly away.

I'm not sure what to do now. I don't want a cat to get him.

He's finally gone ! Did I do the right thing by picking him up ? My Yorkie
was bouncing up and down !
May have been a young bird who was waiting for mum or dad to feed him/her but then gave up and went into the hedge.

The only risk in picking a bird up is that it may die of shock; I've had that once; but generally they are happy, or should be, at being put somewhere safer.

Well I had that thought about the dying of shock bit but when you have a Yorkie bouncing off the ceiling, you have to think pretty quick !
