,i have a vauxhall vectra sri 2003 2.2 petrol,i have several issues that have occured since the car has been standing 4 months and the battery died,fitted new battery and heres whats happens,car starts up first time drives fine,handbrake warning light is on when driving,the indicators dont work at all,the sidelights come on when you start the engine even with the switch to the "0" position they only go off when the key is taken out,the heater blower wont work,the remote locking wont work and the rear doors are shut and wont open no matter what i do even from the inside etc,the key just opens the drivers door and locks the drivers door,turning the lights to the on position does not illuminate the dash clocks,the boot wont open either,also the handbrake warning light stays on..interior lights dont work...hazard switch wont work...ive googled for a few days and read up on something called canbus communication breakdown etc....i really dont know where to start.....elec windows work,passenger door opens,fuel gauge and trip computer work,wipers work,horn works,it has an aftermarket sony cd player in works

All this TEC2 baloney, it's a pain in the butt ain't it, it has to be used on my Saab for almost everything as well.

yes its a pain mate...i believe opcom is a cheaper option and can be used to do pretty much all the same...not certain but seen it come up alot on some forums...

ok ....thanks for your views/help on this issue mate...all the best...just got try sort heater blowers out now...i know the drain hole on these vectras under the windscreen get blocked which then sends the water down inside the footwell all over the blower motor and resistor etc...the drain hole was not blocked at all.pollen filter dry,carpet dry...so hopefully just the resistor itself which i hear are very common...im thinking of removing the motor connecting to wires from the battery to the motor terminals see if it spins round to check the motor is still running.....
