My Daughter stole money from place of work, admitted the offence and resigned. The on going internal investigations have revealed how flawed the policy/procedures/security and money storage was.Accounts had not been checked for over a year ! If my daughters line manager had been doing her job correctly and regularly checked accounts under her remit i believe my daughter wouldnt have taken anything. Can my daughter take action against her ex line manager ?I realise this sounds cheeky but there are other circumstances involved and given my daughter is now left with very little /no job etc etc,she accepts she made a mistake but i think some of the responsibility lies with her ex line manager for being relaxed in her duties ?

Oh, and, of course, if the client is paying, we say "In my opinion, you will be pouring money down the drain in pursuing this. But I don't mind that, because I am the drain"
Ha ha ha I think this is a wind up.

No one can be that stupid as to think you can sue someone because you are a thief. Or can there!!!!!
Er no, not one single iota of responsibility for your daughter stealing lies with anyone other than her. That's the most ridiculous suggestion I've seen on here yet.

The company might also wish to take disciplinary action against the line manager if her lax actions opened up the opportunity but that's up to them. There are absolutely no grounds whatsoever for your daughter to sue anyone.
she admitted thieving and now she wants compensation . that is so wrong .
No wonder our daughter has a bad attitude. Obvious where she gets it from.
... your daughter ...
