Opinion please! When travelling on the A350 from Corsham to Malmesbury in Wiltshire, are you travelling north, north-east, or north north-east?

Looking at my AA road-atlas, I'd say north-north east is probably closest. Actually, it's only slightly off being north, so how about nor'-nor'-east by north?

You're spot on again QM -when are you not!

I thought it was generous of me to agree to north, north north-east but the ST compiler thinks it's north-east.

No way is it north-east! Especially not if the compiler's offering halfway directions such as north-north east. Goodness knows which map he/she was using.

Quibbling, nit-picking second thoughts, QM -such fun trying to be fair!

If the compiler starts off from near Bath and tells us that his destination (Adlestrop) is north east, might he not, after all, be right in saying, "continuing north east a thirteen mile drive leads him to Malmesbury"?

He�s going to go north to Malmesbury as he contiunes on his way north east.

Shall we change our plea, m'Lud!?
