I've searched and searched but can't find a turtle/tortoise/terrapin to fit picture No. 43. A clue would be very much appreciated.

Try going to google and typing in famous terrapin statue. It is to do with a university in the USA

Well, I did wonder about that, but it doesn't exactly match the picture. I'll put that down anyway and hope for the best. Many thanks.

Go to google press images then type in testudo statue. Scroll down and on page 2 second line down you will find the photo.
