We are off to London for half term with two fifteen year old boys...Any ideas for trips etc that are slightly out of the ordinary and not too expensive. Thanks in advance

im afraid most things in london are quite expensive, the only thing would be to purchase family tickets etc, on the internet beforehand ,for the london eye, maybe madam tussauds, museums are free, there is the raf museum at hendon, which is very good, possibly a tour round one of the footie clubs.

I would imagine two 15 year olds would love this. It is a Duck tour which goes on wheels on the road, and then goes into the water in the Thames

How about the Imperial War Museum, which is in South London

http://london.iwm.org.uk/

Lots of planes, tanks and guns, and they may even learn something.

Or HMS Belfast, which is on the Thames near Tower Bridge

The Trocadero near Picadilly Circus is good for teenagers.

It has cinema, bowling alley, shops, places to eat, arcades, some fair ground rides etc.

Cannot find a good web site, but more here

London Dungeon near Tower Bridge would be good for 15 year olds.

I would imagine they would enjoy the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. They are next to each other near the Albert Hall.

They are both free to get in, they are huge, and while some parts may be boring to a 15 year old, other parts will interest them (Computers, Dinosaurs, even a full size whale !)

The Earth Galleries part of the Natural History museum is amazing. All about the earth, rocks, vulcanoes, earthquakes etc. It is very well put together.

There is even an earthquake room where the whole room shakes (with you in it) to simulate being in an earthquake

Even though they are 15 how about Hamleys toy shop in Regent st.

http://www.hamleys.com/pcat/regent

This is HUGE, and the toys range from young kids toys to teenagers toys like remote control cars, model kits, computer games etc.

Easy to spend a couple of hours in there.

The Harrods toy shop is also great.

How about the British Museum. Also free. Huge building with loads to see.

I think they will be staggered by the Egyptian gallery. Huge statues we stole from Egypt and brought back to the UK also Mummies, Rosseta stone etc

Can I suggest you buy the London Eye Witness Travel Guide by DK (Dorling Kindersley).

This book is great, lots of info with bright coloured pictures, lots of maps, lots of useful info.

also, lastminute.com has special offers on a no. of the attractions mentioned above, and you may find new ideas too.
I think The Cabinet War Roms under Whitehall would be very interesting to all the Bells!!

Have fun
