I can picture you looking best in either deep blue or deep green.
TK Maxx usually have a load of evening dresses in. If you have one near you I would go in and try some on to at least get an idea of colour and style.
hello pompomfairy, my daughter is also having her prom this year, i'm having a dress made for her and it's not that expensive, debenhams have a prom dress section, ebay sell lots of prom dresses as well, pale blue would probably suit you , try ringing a dressmakers and ask thier advice on cost and best place to get material from, you could even try a bridal shop, good luck with your search !
try www.redcarpetgowns.co.uk - loads of styles to choose from including next day delivery on all our stock items - you wont be disappointed in our great range of prom dresses to suit all types. Ball gown, prom dress, evening dress.

Your description sounds just like me and ive found lilic is a really good colour for me not to dark not to bright depending on were you stay i would say angelic lamont in glasgow is really good and cheap its actually a bridal shop but does bridesmaids dresses which could be used as prom dresses. But if glasgow is to far i would try your local wedding shops that do hire maybe it would work out cheaper for you there is no point paying for something that you may never wear again.
