I want to design a newsletter and have been advised that Microsoft Publisher would make it easy. I have publisher on my desktop computer and wondered if there is any way I can transfer it to my laptop?

If not, do I have to buy it? I have seen it advertised for over £100 but I just plan on the newsletter being a cheap homemade thing that I want to do for my Mum to keep in touch with the grandchildren etc so don't want to spend a fortune. Can I download it for free?

Again, if not, is there anything similar that I could use to make a newsletter? I have used Microsoft Word to make my first one.

Thanks in advance.

You can't transfer the program from one computer to another; you'd need to have the set-up disc to install it onto your laptop.

The UK software company, Serif, produces an excellent desktop publishing program, called PagePlus. The latest full version (called PagePlus X7, with lots of 'bells & whistles' that you don't actually need) costs £81.69 but there's also a Starter Edition (which will completely meet your needs) which is 100% free:

Thanks for the info and the link. I'll give that a go.
Open Office includes 'Draw'. It is free so may be worth a try.
