I've recently started getting emails both from companies and friends with either 'Definitely Spam' or 'Disarmed' before the subject. Anyone know what's this about. They aren't spam.

I've Norton anti virus & firewall.

Sounds like you have a program running that's taking a look at your emails as they arrive and classifying them for you. Perhaps, at some time, you downloaded a program that does that and never used it... then inadvertently kicked it off?

If it's saying 'disarmed', that could indicate there were viruses present (yeah, I know, obviously!), and if it shows this a lot then that might indicate that this isn't really a genuine program at all, but one that's spoofing a virus checker. Maybe one of your 'friends' has sent this little gem to you in an email (in with a picture or document perhaps) to drive you crazy. Have you opened any attachments lately? Do you have any friends that like practical jokes? Worth thinking about. Maybe I'm on the wrong track, but I'd be on the lookout in case it's something like this.

My guess is that your ISP may have recently introduced some filtering software on their email server in an attempt to stop viruses and the like reaching their customers. A quick scan of their website should tell you if this is the case, and you may be able to disable this facility if you prefer to filter your own emails.
