Hello, my combi boiler has just started making a constant grinding noise out of the blue. The heating still works, pressure is where it should be, hot water is still on. Should I be worried? Should I turn it off? Should I call the plumber?

I would be worried, but I would do something about it, it is probably the circulation pump which is cheap and easy to replace.

Get a quote from some plumbers.

Yes I'd agree with that, it's probably a worn out pump. You might be able to quieten it down for a while by switching to a slower speed. There should be a knob with three positions if you can get to it. A standard pump may not fit as combis often have push fit connections.

Thanks for your help! I will call some plumbers now. Is it safe to carry on using it until the pump is replaced?
