Hi,

I have put an offer in for a house, This was accepted, The owner wants a quick sale which is no problem.

We understood that the house was also on the market with another estate agent and had someone else put an offer in but was told that they had a survey done and land registery checks but the sale fell through.

I was browsing a property website today and have noticed that the house i'd put an offer in for was sold STC with the other estate agent.

I phoned the estate agent which 'sold' it and enquired about the property and was told it sold last week.

I then asked a friend to call the estate agent that i put the offer in with to enquire about the property and she was told that there has been another offer on the house with a different estate agent but the owner was still accepting viewings.

Do i go ahead and get the survey done and fork out for the costs hopng that the sale had fallen through or do i stop the mortgage company sending a surveyor round so we have no fees to pay?

Please help, I have fallen in love with this property but dont want 1 bad experience to scare me off for life!!

You should move fast - get your survey etc done. Even if a sale is agreed, nothing is binding until the contracts are sold (different in Scotland, I believe)
I would ask them to take it off the market now that you have agreed to buy, they should be willing to do this for you tell them your concerns., obviously as whickerman says either party can pull out up untill exchange of con tracts, hope it works for you, good luck, Ray
Tell them take it off the market for you if they accept your offer before you survey or no deal, you can't be messed about and lose money. Some people don't know what they are doing and end up losing everyone interested. You also need to take off the rose tinted specs, there are thousands of houses out there all much the same.
Houses are things. You use things, you love people (and animals)
