Tiverton isnt a particularly nice part of Devon to be honest but some lovely areas on the outskirts, no particular problems that I'm aware of with the Westexe area.
Are you thinking of moving to the area?
Only 7 or 8 miles from me, pussy. I know quite a few people from there, and they're really quite sensible (for Tiverton) ;o)

It's mostly rows of terraced houses, built for the workers in Heathcote's textile factory in the area.
Tiverton's another of those Devon towns (South Molton, Torrington also), that are pleasant enough, though unremarkable. As Rattperson has said, the "real" money, and the best areas are in the villages outside.

There is an old joke here that Tiverton's gene pool greatly improved with the invention of the Bicycle. ;o)

Thank you all very much.
Yes Ratter i am considering moving there but as i currently live in Shropshire i don't know many areas and i can't just 'pop' and have a look.
can you recommend some areas in Devon?
Devon is so big and varied, puss, that there's probably something for everyone.
If you're buying, it will depend on your budget.
It'll also greatly depend on what you're looking for........ close to Motorway/Trains?
Seaside
Moors
The Exe valley North from Exeter, right up to Exmoor is lovely.
To be blunt, I would avoid the large conurbations of Torbay and Plymouth.
