I have a magnolia stellata which I planted two years ago. Last year, it had three flowers. This year, I've had none. Any idea why?

There are quite slow to establish. They need full sun but protection from windburn and frost when they are about to flower. The flower buds are formed late in the previous year and can easily be affected by winter weather.

Mine didn't do too well this year either and mines about 8yrs old.

Better luck next year then Alice?
Blame the late spring Tilly. I had a beauty at our last house, never had any trouble getting it established flowered profusely from the get go, but it was in a sheltered sunny spot. Bought another one recently but it hasn't flowered at all, but where I have it, is not the ideal spot for it, I plan to move it to the front of the house - I haven't taken it out of it's pot yet which explains the lack of flowers, we just haven't the weather for me to get out and do a spot of gardening until the past week or so
Just googled them. They look beautiful in bloom.
Same here...have fed if loads..but have had terrible winters too ..
This is the first year mine hasn't flowered. It is about 8-9yrs old.
A couple of friends also have these plants and they haven't had any flowers either.
