An aquaintance of mine recently posted on her Fb page photos of friends taken in their home and without their permission. I was surprised and they were shocked, is this acceptable? do other people do this? It seems like a gross invasion of privacy to me, any comments?

//You can actually make FB as private or as public as you want. //

When people post pictures and information about me without seeking my permission, it isn't about what I want - it's about what they want.

The point that some people are missing is that the poster of the photos was not aware that what she had posted was compromising in a way that she was not aware of. It could have had severe financial consequences, hopefully it was removed in time.
i think if you post a pic and set it to friends only can see it and someone shares it then anyone not on your friends cant see it... if that makes sense

i have 2 facebooks... one i rarely go on that has family and real life friends plus online friends that is all friends only and another that ive had years that is a mix of public, friends only and also stuff shared with specific people on my friends that other friends cant see....i can see the point of view from both sides, i have loads of photos on fb but if i had joe bloggs down the road on my friends then he would be blocked from seeing them as i wouldnt necessarily invite him up for a cuppa and look at my holiday pics
no it didnt make sense.... if i have a pic and its set to friends only, then if say jom was on my friends and shared it then only jom and any allowed by me to see it can see it...
I suppose it would be, if she does not figure in any of the photos!
