What would you miss if you left these shores (Britain)?
For me it would be pubs, the BBC, beer, the countryside, beer, great cities, choice of food, beer, winters and, err.........beer.

I'd miss roast dinners with yorshires, full English brekkie and beer fueled pub lunches. They are just not the same anywhere else. I'd probably see more of my family if I lived in a different country as they'd see it as an excuse for a holiday.
Not missed a bloody thing.

Crap weather in UK is something that, on reflection, I have missed....thank goodness.

Never been keen on pubs...so haven't missed them....although they are abroad if you need them.

People here (Menorca) are friendly providing that you make an effort to integrate,

Health...believe it or NOT, health care abroad is as good as the NHS.

No, I cannot see any reason to return to the UK..........but never say never eh?
On my first visit back to the UK from a parched Canadian summer I asked the taxi driver what the green stuff was in the fields.....Grass was the answer .....with a puzzled look. Humour and Radio 4 are what I missed too. x
I'd miss Gness.....
Nahhh...you're aim is too good Shoota...;-) xx
the unpredictable weather, birdsong, my neighbour, my garden (although I don't garden, my father does it for me)
Your not you're....!
Oh, and the wide diversity of interesting bird life.
We get all the British birds plus Hoopoes, scops owls, golden aurioles, black kites and nightingales in abundance, I've had to chase them out of my garage to avoid shutting them in.
Grasscarp, No, according to Indians.
LOL jomifl. I like our curries too and is the one thing I miss when abroad.
I long to go live in Menorca. As long as I could get back for shopping now and again I don't think I'd miss anything except perhaps fresh double cream.
Where I lived in the UK you have to be born there to be accepted and being educated doesn't help. Where I live in France the locals are more inclusive because they seem to lack the xenophobia that afflicts a lot of Brits. It's probably because they meet more foreigners. In my street there is an American, a South African a Mauritian and a couple of Algerians. What the locals don't like is Parisians and locals who left the village, made a good career and came back.
The Beer side of it does not worry me Zac, its the handout I'm concerned with also the stupid law & sentences.
Polite and considerate drivers.
When i lived abroad i missed HP sauce and a decent cup of tea!!!
Hi Zacs!
Beer -yes and enjoying it in a proper pub. Pity about pub prices - just means you can't have as many!
Remember when I came down to Derbyshire in 1963 a delicious pint of Marstons Pedigree was 1s8d in old money = about 8p!
Those were the days
Just going to have a wee dram.
Cheers

Jack, sorry I missed your post. When I started drinking I would go out for 3 pints and take £1 with me and come home with 1p change!
