How do i work out 35/4 as a written sum please - it's bad when your child's homework gets the better if you!

Don't they use the old fashioned division annotation anymore like an L rotated through 90 deg,out of interest?

I would lay it out

32÷4 = 8 r 3
=> 8¾

I really don't think it needs much more than that

Yes they do Prudie that is the method we usually use but like factor said you still end up having to put 4's into 32, there doesn't seem to be a more simplified version available
