If you havn,t got the gear forget it!! Most likely a sensor but you can,t tell visually. If youve got a meter you can do certain tests on the sensors. Yes it is an MOT failure.

Thanks, at least i now know it has to be fixed soon - do you mean a multi meter ?. The sensors appear to have a hydraulic pipe leading to them as opposed to electrical cable.

It is a failure because it is a warning light. A warning light is there for a reason - i'd get it sorted if I were you.

mdoo - what's your problem! I did'nt decide decide the law on what is an mot failure and what isn't!! Tigga asked a question, bill barlow & myself answered it.

I know for a fact that it is an instant mot failure if the abs light remains illuminated during the inspection. Every mot testing station has a chart listing every model of vehicle which specifies when the abs light should illuminate and for how long. The airbag system is not part of the mot so if the light is illuminated then there would be no reason to fail. As for the reason I dont know, but to answer the original question posted by Tigga - yes it is an mot failure!!!!!!
