I am told that the freeview service is not available in my local area. Is there a way of getting freeview without breaking the bank?

Getting a sky dish is the only way, not that expensive as they do a version of free view which was 100, no monthly contract.
It may be worth borrowing a freeview box from a friend and trying it. We live in an area where you can't get freeview but when I borrowed my mate's box, I was able to get quite a few of the channels just not all of them.
the Sky freesat is 100 for 3 years.
You still have to get the box and dish, which can be fairly expensive.
However, quite often found 2nd hand.
Do as the second answer suggests first. I live in an area where it is said we cannot receive freeview, but was tipped off that ASDA have a 28 day full refund for electrical items. So I bought a freeview box from them for about 30, handled it and plugged it in with kid gloves so that I could return for a full refund if it did not work, and found that it works perfectly and that we receive all channels.
You might need to get a signal booster if the signal is weak(Get it from Argos, that way if it's crap you can take it back).
