Has anyone out there replaced the heating element in their washing machine?

If so, can you tell me whereabouts in the machine it was? I have had the top and back panels off my machine, but I cant find it!

I have had an engineer change two heater elements on my machine and he removes the front panel from the machine.

Thanks for that answer, Im not sure I know how to get the front off!
depends what make of machine but usually it comes from the bottom of the drum, two wires.
There should be two heavy wires via connectors on the element near the bottom on the outer casing on the drum. Take car when removing and replacing the element as the seal must be watertight when replaced. This should be a simple operation and it's not rocket science just use common sence.
