Meteor shower over england tonight?

My mother who lives 10,000 miles away heard on a local news broadcast that England is expected to have a lovely metoer shower tonight ....i can't see anything on local news. Does anyone elsee know about this? When, time, where etc?

yes evedawn it is the perseids meteor shower it is caused by the earth passing through the tail of the comet swift tuttle if you can see it it is quite spectacular between 60 and 80 meteors an hour............

also at exactly at 9 41 pm you will get a 5 minute view of the space station going over it has been on clear view all week in the uk another viewing at 11 16pm precisely. comes from the west.

meteor shower is around 3am early sunday morning,around 1 meteor a minute which is good. There like strikes of light

apparently its tonight (22nd April) Im going to have a walk onto the seafront and hope to see it after midnight, hope this helps
