Karaoke Abers ?

Just wondered if any Abers had done the karaoke singing and how did you get on. I used to sing on stage in my early 20s and had quite a reasonable voice,or so I thought, but some amateur singers now have amazing voices. A few times lately when Ive had the chance to ` get up there ` Ive not dared as you often think you sound better than you actually do and wouldnt want to make a fool of myself.

Personally I'm not a fan. Someone had karaoke at a wedding reception recently and it was toe curling. Most thought they could sing better than they actually did.
Each to their own admittedly, some might have nice voices but no-one did at the wedding reception!

I do SingStar, which is vaguely similar, but done at home, with friends when drunk.

In my head, I sing like Celine Dion, but in reality, I probably sing like Mrs O cat.

I'd never have the nerve to do it in a pub filled with strangers.

I was once thrown out of a taxi for singing!
Mind you, a drunken female trying to sing ALL the harmonies at once to the Flying Pickets 'Only You' was probably too much for the driver

Yeah I sing and do Karaoke, so do most of my family.It's something we do several times per year, some of us taking it seriously and some people sounding like a gully sucker and not caring. I love it.

I contain my singing to in-car. it sounds great in there. and bloody awful anywhere else.

When my Dad has his pub he used to hold a karaoke night once a month so we'd always be made to get up and sing to get it going. I would now have to be extremely drunk to even consider it.

We could start a Karaoke thread, there are lots of tracks on Youtube, sing along, upload the track to somewhere like filehost and post a link, if everyone's feeling fun enough. xx

I've just been singing along to a song on the radio and Mr O asked me if I was feeling OK as he thought I was in pain. Bloody cheek!

The last time I did a duet, with Lil's gay son, we stood on tables and belted out Sinatra's My Way. He was great, me - not so great.

On the big finale, i fell sideways off the table and nearly put my eye out. Seriously, I was a mess for weeks.
