I noticed on Sky this morning, a thread notice about a Blackhawk crash at the N. Korean border. But nothing reported beyond that on Sky, or on BBC. But I go to the Australian news wires and it's all over the place.

It leads me to ask, does anyone know the best place to go for up to the second news alerts, such as comes off the AP/UPI etc type wires?

Sad to say the BBC World has been rather disappointing lately in its uptake of numerous items from around the world.

Many thanks
Ollie

Newsnow gets pages from many websites and there are plenty of filters e.g this is Korean Border Clashes in Hot Topics http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Hot+Topics/Korean+Border+Clashes (and remember you can get to the home page by clicking on the site logo in the top left corner)

Thanks Bibble! That's an excellent start for me! I knew something such as this existed, but probably wasn't bright enough to know how to find it! Cheers!

No worries Bibble, I'll fiddle with it a bit and see if I can get it to feed me (as it were). Thanks again! Ollie!
I have the BBC news website as my home page.

It was on the ball yesterday with the Boston marathon story

Thanks Mikey! I'm never one to besmudge our wonderful Beeb - always been proud of it, but I often wonder where the priorities lie when it comes to world news - which is the station I watch. There are days when I can find out more about what's happening here by going to a non-UK broadcaster. Clearly, in the midst of the bombing, I was 'surfing' between news channels and I missed it. 30 lashes to me. Nevertheless, Bibble has warmed the cockles of my heart with their link. I've been happily absorbed in the woes of the world ever since! Thanks again!
