Can Churchill's funeral be used as a precedent?

Is there a danger of re-opening old wounds?

By the way - I don't even know whether it's being considered yet!

Wouldn't it set a precedent? Major or Blair hardly deserve any less.
I don't think it will. In fact, I think it was Blair (I could be wrong on this) who first mooted the idea of a State Funeral for her.
Blair's a man with an ulterior motive. She gets one on his recommendation, he can expect one too
i was reading that the matter was discussed with her 5 years ago, so that's 2008, who was in power at the time?
Gordon Brown was PM then.
Meow. What colour nail varnish are you wearing Mick?
exactly .
See....lol

*swishes skirt and leaves the room*
Blair has not won a war or conflict though.

Sandy...it what way will Major deserve a State funeral ? He was only voted in as the Tory Party leader because he wasn't Michael Heseltine. He lost over a 100 of the Tories majority in his first election and then lost to Labour in 1997 in a spectacular manner that hadn't been seen since 1945.
