I'm lost. For some reason I cannot access "Google Earth" now; I used to be able to with no problem. I'm using Windows XP, Firefox, and AVG (new version). Any help would be really appreciated.

Google updated GE around the 26/2/13 the 7.0 version. you can try and download it again or do a search for it on your pc. it should be under All Programs.
What do you mean by "cannot access"? - You can't find it? It wont load?

You can download it here, should you need to:

I used to able to just double click on the desktop icon and get Google Earth. The last few days I can't, so I deleted the program and tried to download it again: I can't. Think it must be the antivirus program I have...Back to using the atlas I guess. Thanks for trying to help, people.
Turn the firewall off and try downloading it again. I had similar problem and this worked for me. Remember to turn on the firewall after you've finished.

How do you turn it off and on, society?
- click start
- control panel
- windows firewall
- select off

I too use XP
Question Author
I did that, society, and it didn't work. Thanks anyway.
Check to see if the previous download is completely removed. If not, remove all traces and start again.

I did everything that you suggested; however, all I get is a message: "Google Earth has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.".
You might be able to reinstall at Control Panel-Add & Delete, IF its listed

OR search your Programs & Files
