My great granddad was a jockey and was at one point tipped to win the grand national but he died before he got the chance. (Someone said he fell off a horse but someone else said it was the booze that killed him, I'm not sure).

A couple of years ago I found one of those old cards you got in packets of John Player Specials about him but it went around the family and now nobody seems to know where it is, so I'm desperately trying to get my hands on another or just find some solid info about it. I can't remember how I came about it last time.

I know very few details. His name was James John Hogan and he was born around 1899. I think he was from Co. Tipperary but that might be wrong.

Can anyone help me?

Contact the jockey club...you should find them by googling...they ought to be able to help if he was a professional jockey..

I seem to remember doing that a few years ago and they'd either had no details on him or just ignored me completely.

Sorry, that was to Murray. I'll have a look at contacting them Mosaic.
Evian, it annoys me no end when places don't reply to people's enquiries. Next thing they go begging for Lottery funding. Harumph!
also this is a list of all the cigarette card issuers and collections, which may help identify the series you need
