Hi I want to convert old cinefilms to dvd, I have the following I would like to use -

Analogue video camera
A cinefilm projector which the camera fits into

On my laptop there is a firewire port, what do I need to connect svideo out of the camera into the firewire port? ALso can anyone recommend what software to use, thanks

You can't connect the SVideo to the fire wire port: SVideo is an analogue signal and firewire is digital. You have 2 choices, get an analogue capture card (which will almost certainly come with software) or an analogue to digital converter.
