I`d go for the Aqueous. All the others are anti-fungal, antibacterial etc. Have you tried Vaseline. Something simple like that might help.
I would use the aqueous cream for now as it's bland and won't sting and go and get some Diprobase cream tomorrow .
It's brilliant for sore hands .
aqueous cream. if you can, slather it on several times a day....and wear it under some soft gloves at night. poor you :-(
Our doctor prescribed Diprobase and hydrocortisone for my 85 year old dad's dry skin. She said apply the Diprobase then wait half an hour before applying the hydrocortisone. So from your selection I'd say apply the aqueous cream wait half an hour then apply the Fucidin H. Good luck I'm about to do the same as my right hand is like sandpaper in patches and really painful.

Oh i have some petroleum jelly, would that be ok?
Question Author
AAqueous it is then. Thanks! X
Petroleum jelly is the same as Vaseline. I would be inclined to try that first because it hasn`t got all the other additives (acids etc) in it. That`s just what I would do though it if was me.
I have the same problem Crisgal. I've got a tub of aqueous cream left over from when Little Tiggs had eczema but I think the best thing to use is Cetraben which is an emolient and also try bathing your hands in Oilatum.
I have dreadfully dry hands and I use almond oil to soothe them. I have several pairs of white cotton gloves, so I soak my hands in oil, put my gloves on and try to leave them on for as long as possible. It works for me.
I bought my partner some Neutrogena Norwegian formula hand cream cos his hands get all cracked and red because of his job, its worked a treat.
Yes jasmin my son uses that Norwegian formula, it's good stuff.
My husband has the same problem chrisgal. Like Tilly I got him some white cotton gloves which he wears at night. He smothers his hands in Vaseline and puts them on.. It really helps him. I got the gloves from Amazon. £4.25 for 2 pairs. Keep them out of water as much as possible, that'll help a bit.
I get my gloves from the local LLoyds Chemist.
I got my gloves from Boots.
.................and I get my almond oil from the local Indian shop. Cheap as chips.
Hi crisgal, me and all my friends swear my Palmers Coco Butter and we've used everything and i mean everything on the market and nothing comes even close.

my uncle who was a cow man used to swear by udder cream for hands you can buy online or from a farm merchants
i have similar problem cris and use either aqueous or diprobase (think thats prescription only) they are ok but pure coconut oil (really cheap) is good too and also discovered after running out of everything that bayliss and harding indulgent hand lotion is fab... that might sting though if its cracked and sore
I was told by a nurse that the best thing to use on hands was vaseline, rub in a good dob, gently run hands under a little warm water, dry carefully, and put gloves on. The residual vaseline soaks into the skin and leaves them soft, and feeling much better.
