Hi all, does anybody know if you can turn off the passenger airbag on an A3 (2004 - Attraction). I have a feeling you can't. Also as I have a nipper on the way, can you cope with a kid with a 3 door car or should I be considering a 5 door?

Thank you kindly

I have a 3 door (and a nipper) and i actually find it a lot easier cos you can get right in a lift them out as apposed to getting them out sideways - and no you can't turn off the passenger airbag on an A3.
There's no problem with a 3 door car and kids in the back. They can't tamper with the doors or open the windows and that's a lot safer than the likes or 4 door cars.

You should consider the more important question of how much room is in the boot for storing umpteen bags of baby gubbins and pushchairs and the like.

Your local Audi dealer should be able to deactivate the airbag....at a cost.

....and then charge you to reactivate it! Dont try a do a Bruce Willis in Die Hard 3 and take the fuse out (like i did - i got told off by lots of people for that one!) On some of the family oriented cars like Peugeots and Citroens you just turn a key - i suppose thats what comes from having a funky little audi.
we have a 5 door a3 and you can turn the passenger airbag off - the lock is inside the glovebox at the top right hand corner. you cant however turn the driver one off not that you would need to. and yes number of doors arent really important but boot space is paramount , our 3 wheeler pushchair takes up the entire boot. enjoy parenthood mate...
