i'm thinking of buying a vauxhall corsa diesel. Does anyone out there own one and if so what mileage per gallon do you get?

I don't own one but you should get around 60 mpg on a small car. You might find some more info in the trade magazines.
Yes it would be very good on diesel if driven well. It would be the best move I`ve had two.
my mate had one,(i personally dont like vauxhalls) a 1.5 litre turbo diesel L reg,he got one cos they have an isuzu engine,very economical,if a little sluggish,he tweaked the boost on his a little which helped.The main advantage of this particular vehicle is i cant think of another turbo diesel that qualifies for the low tax associated with the small capacity engine,check the timing belt though...
we have a fleet of 9 of these at our work, ive driven 3 of them over the past 3 years alternately. they are 52 plate 1.7di with a very small turbo. they return 48mpg on average of a mixed urban cycle. you may get about 55mpg on a run. i personally hate them to bits however!!!
