Virus???

Yesterday I received an email from our wedding photographer. We've been married nearly 4 years so I was a bit suspicious of it. Anyway, the email itself was blank apart from having a website address. I didn't open the website and just deleted the email. I also noticed that it had been sent to 3 other names, all a variation on Katherine Johnstone (I've no idea who that could be).

So I thought, just to be safe, I would run my MacAfee scan. I've tried opening up MacAfee and all I get is a large white box in the middle of my screen. I can't seem to scan my PC at all.

Do you think I have a virus? Can anyone recommend a free virus checker I can download?

NEVER open a web site address in your e-mail if your unsure who its from

I didn't open the web address, deggers. I'm just concerned that I may have picked up a virus from the email itself.
I doubt you have a virus as you didn`t click on the link and you deleted the email. The sender has probably had their email hacked. There have been quite a few threads that it on here. Yahoo/BTYahoo seems to be the main problem.

I'm just downloading AVG (Thanks, everhelpful!) so hopefully it's just a case of my PC having a brain fart and not anything sinister.

Brain Fart? Love that.!!

I have them myself all the time. Why should my PC be any different.
Never heard it before, must remember to use it sometime.:o)

Thanks again Everhelpful. The AVG scan found a trojan and a corrupt file and both have been removed.

My MacAfee is still not playing ball though!
