White Spot On Cardinal Tetra & Platy

Bought 3 glow light tetra, 3 platy & 2 plants in shop on 2nd March. Cardinal tetras in tank & new platy plus 2 original ones developed white spot 1 week later. Could the new fish have brought whitespot from shop or is there too long a time before it was noticible?
