How do you know whether a spyware-remover program has its own spyware with it? Do you have to download two different programs, to check on each other? (I have heard that the popular AdAware has its own spyware - is this true?)

Good question, I have Adaware and if it does have its own spyware then I will uninstall it.Somehow though,I just dont believe that it does have spyware. It does not add up.Unless of course there is someone out there who can inform us further?
Just to let you know, i;m using Spybot Search & Destroy and AdAware doesn't appear in the detection list. This is also excellent software and free to use and with regular updates.
Well, you just about got to end up trusting someone,.. and most people trust Lavasoft adaware, Spybot, emery's Sweeper and AVG virus gizmo, they're all freeware and all safe, afaik, and so say a million or so others.. but i remember when they trusted Gozilla download manager, not me, it was to pushy, but millions go goosed ny Gozilla's spyware, so be aware :-)
This is an interesting site, click on the spyware list in the left hand column for a A - Z.
