never heard anyone from the BBC offer moral and spiritual guidance quite like a decent sunday turn from a catholic preist.
There are few other organisations that i can think of where authority figures can have unchallenged access to the object of their predation for such a long period of time - and who, by virtue of their role and the institution they represent, always had the benefit of doubt on those rare occasions where a scared child might actually summon the courage to complain.
It doesn`t matter if someone offers moral or spiritual guidance. Fact is, people in positions of power shouldn`t take advantage of that power and use it to abuse people and scare them into keeping quiet. It makes no difference in which industry that position of power is - the church, the media etc. It seems that these things have been going on across all spheres and it`s a good thing that those that have been abused feel that they can speak up now so that sort of behaviour can stop.
