Thanks to gary baldy and dotjhawkes for such swift response. Thinking that if Parliamentary Questions were answered that swiftly there were would have been groups like The Chartists. Thank you.
it is usually comapred with the anti corn law league who were also active at the time.

Thanks also to woofgang for asistance on my Chartists query.
The Wikipedia is something else - superb stuff. Had not been referencing it up to now.
Although many of the leaders of the Chartists, such as Bronterre O'Brien and Feargus O'Connor were Irish there is no reference to them in most Irish history books!
There is also a great modern song about The Chartists, titled "Ironmasters" and performed by The Men They Couldnt Hang on their "Night of a Thousand Candles" compact disk.
