As a special treat I bought a bag of catnip for my kitten 9 months and she went mental I put the back down on the table with the rest of my shopping and she ran around with the bag and when I opened it she ran all round the room meowing and then rolled around on the floor for ages

Yep, some cats go nuts for it. Kitty cannabis it is really.

Yes she will. One of our cats goes mad for it, it's like a drug for them. Small doses are best!

buy a catnip plant (nepeta?) and put it in the garden they will roll in it

Fill an old sock with some catnip and know it....instant cheap toy! She'll love it.

That is what catnip does to cats. I've had eleven cats so far and every one of them has behaved that way with catnip. It's quite normal - don't worry.
