Hello. I want to buy some foam of the same type used for the common mouse mat. Does anyone know what type it is and what I should be looking for? Ta.

I think it's neoprene
'Craft foam' (which, unsurprisingly, can be purchased in craft shops) is probably what you're seeking.
Chris, craft foam is softer and not so resilient.

Many thanks for your answers folks (and so quick :)). It has to be tough and resilient and I've heard that old mouse mats are an excellent replacement for my purpose. A quick search on neoprene would attest to woofgang's answer and would also bring up craft foam as neoprene. So I was wondering about different grades/technical specifications/density to look for. But, that's enough for me to be

How big do you need the sheets? If actual mouse mats would do the job, they're 2 for a pound in many 'pound shops'. That might be cheaper than seeking a specialist foam supplier.

I need them just bigger than the large mouse mat you used to see around. I suppose if I could find some of those I could improvise. Many thanks again for all your answers.
Pretty sure its neoprene, like wet suits but thicker :-)
