Atkinsons On 1911 Census

Im tracing the family of David Atkinson born 11.4.1903 in Oldham. Free BMD Ref 8d 725 shows in June 1903 which is possibly the correct one. But on 1911 census there are 2 stating abt 1904 so, Im not sure which one it is without sending for birth cert or marriage cert when he married Hilda Stone in 1928. Does anyone have parish records to confirm his parents please

I don't have Parish Records, but I am just looking at the 1911 Census at the two Davids. One was born in Royton, son of Malcolm and Ellen, living in Oldham. The other was born in Droylsden, son of Julius and Grace, and were living in Droylsden, which is very close to Ashton-under-Lyne.

Turning to the Birth Index, the Jun 1903 birth was registered in Oldham; and the Dec 1903 birth was registered in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Both familes seem settled, so I would go for David, son of Malcolm and Ellen first.

that is rather interesting because I too have Atkinsons in my family tree,

Ellen was Ellen Walker and she married malcom they in 1902 reg dist Oldham Q1 8d 1027

thanks all for your replies. I have been asked to obtain the birth and marriage cert of David Atkinson to confirm the father. I would certainly go for the one mentioned though. Hoping you are right. Will let you know. Thanks again

TOH the one in the baptism i have found has the same birth date as the one you have asked for in the OP

Thanks for everyones help, but just to let you know, I had to send for certs in the end to confirm and it was well worth it as I would have gone completely off track. The father of David was indeed Malcolm Joseph and his father Alfred. Thats when I got really stuck as I found he was born in London but living in Lancashire. I presumed his father must be a Thomas or Benjamin from London, but on sending for Alfreds marriage cert found his father was Matthew !! I found one living in London but born in Yorkshire. After a lot of digging, it turns out Matthew probably to moved to London looking for work, his wife Jane, died and his 2 sons moved up to Lanacshire. It all seemed to fit together eventually, and another tree happily completed
