I have had a weding invite that just says my name on it - not +1 or my boyfriends name

does this mean only i am invited, or is it kind of a given that you will bring your partner?

I can't decide if i think its weird to say your partner cant come, or fair enough because of numbers. (they dont know him, but know im with him an know his name)

cheers

I would simply ask.
Grasp the nettle. Telephone (don't email) the person inviting you and, cheerfully and with an audible smile, ask the question. It's the only way.
I'd ring and ask, when I got married we had a venue change and struggled for space badly, the girls at work (about 10 of them) all came on their own to the whole day, with their partners coming in the evening, this was discussed with them before the invites went out though.

Is the invite for all day or the evening, if it's evening it probably wouldn't matter too much.
Difficult. This has happened to me in the past and, after a lot of plucking up courage , I have rung up and asked. Better to know one way or the other otherwise it gets awkward.

its only the evening do, at a hotel. obviously if it was the meal etc and was costing them money i wouldnt ask.

the main problem i have also is its a bit far away so would either stay at the hotel or taxi back - but either way its too much cost for one person.

i actually prefer to go to weddings alone if he doesnt know the person because i feel obliged to spend all evening sitting with him when i want to chat to other - although last time he seemed to get along with everyone well enough... and it will be the same gang.

i will just ask i think - to be honest i doubt she'll care either way, but i will check.

i just wondered if the fact it wasnt mentioned was their way of 'answering the question' anyway.
Ask something like "Is it supposed to be just me or did you want me to bring Kevin, as he may be working that day"
