Does anyone know of a good way of cleaning this other than putting it in a bowl of water and scrubbing away at it with a toothbush. I only put fabric softener in the drawer but overtime there seems to be a build up of it left in it. Is there anything you can leave the drawer in that will soak it all of?

I'll give that a go thanks.
I stick mine in the dishwasher on a hot wash with a tablet but not with my plates etc!!
Yes, a good idea.

A follow-up, please: What about all the gunge behind where the drawer goes? That needs to be cleaned 'in situ', but how, exactly?
old toothbrush
Alternatively, use one of those plastic ball containers for washing machine liquid, fill it and throw it in with all the clothes. I rarely use my washing machine drawer now except on the odd occasions when I need to use a fabric conditioner. and the drawer never gets gungy.
