didn't Ed shaft his brother to get the leadership, perhaps it's time for a little payback.
Tweedledee & Tweedledum.
and not a fag paper between them over their political leanings,
Of course they don't . It's known as Union Solidarity , Blair sold us out and Brown signed the Lisbon Treaty despite knowing the people were against it.
Is our membership of the EU solely down to Labour? Did the Tories play no part in it?
sandy, of course they did, no one disputes that, or shouldn't
according to one unnamed senior party figure.... yeah, right
sandy All governments are to blame but it was under Blair/Brown that the EU expanded, the Euro constitution and the Lisbon treaties, which signed away much of our sovereignty and our open door policy to immigrants , were agreed. It was also during this time that they gave up half our rebate and refused the referendum.

Bzzzzz - WRONG!!!!! - thank you for playing!!!!

The modern EU is based on 2 treaties:

Single European act - signed by Margaret Thatcher

Maastrict treaty signed by John Major
Jake, it's a waste of time trying to trouble some people with the facts.
The three big steps in Britain's EU membership were signed off by Heath, Thatcher and Major. The question for today is: what had these three people in common?

Oh really ! We joined in 1973 when there were 9 States .
During the next 22 years only 6 more were added making 15 .

Then Blair/Brown added another 10 making 25
and 2 yrs later they added another 2 making 27
So during Labour's watch the increase was double that of the previous 22 years

What is more they accepted another 10 candidates

That is a meaningless comment, no treaty is unique , all treaties are based on what has gone before.
If you want to establish loose base lineS , then OEEC, EEC , EFTA , European Community, all contributed to the monster we have today.

Maastrict was the last time sovereign states had any meaningful control .
Since then we have had agreeements: Amsterdam, Nice, European C
cont, European Constitution , and Lisbon . All of which have handed much control of our country to Brussels. The fact that they were all signed by Labour is irrelevant . I doubt if Cameron would have done much different and Cleggy would have given even more away
