sort of like counting your chickens before they're hatched. Suppose the baby doesn't make it home is the suggestion. This probably mattered a lot more a couple of hundred years ago when lots of babies died at birth.
Don't understand this, Furry..................... you mean you have to carry the baby into the house, then go back for the buggy ? ;o)
come on Builder, it means buying the pram before the baby is born.

WR.
This is the danger of the supersitions they put pressure on people to do or not do things.Everyone has their own thoughs on this sorta thing .My opinion would be that people should not mention these sort of things because they can put unnecessary stress on people .
My great grandfather had a shop in Keighley that sold , amongst loads of other things, prams. You were allowed to order a pram and then send word to the shop that the baby had arrived safely. My great aunt would then deliver the pram by walking it round to the house! All a bit different these days!!
Glad someone knew. I was with Builder on that one.
I guess it's just common sense. To have a loss is bad enough, but to have the things you got in anticipation around you as reminders won't improve anything. Get immediate basic needs only ?
I think that's exactly right, OG
We bought our pram when I finished work at six months pregnant, and had it in the house. It all depends how superstitious you are. I'm not.
i ordered pram the other week to be delivered couple of weeks before my due date, but my mum is adament it gets delivered to hers and she will bring it round when we bring baby home. Im not worried either way, i can go round hers to try figure out how it works.
it's just a superstition. Having a pram or not wont change the outcome of the pregnancy. However, having lost 2 babies, og is completely right. There was nothing worse than having to take stuff back to the shop and explain why, or having to walk past an empty nursery till you do xx
How about a compromise - get it delivered to your parents house and play with it htere
whoops 4 get's answer was not there when i posted!
I think it's actually okay to have it in the house as long as you don't walk on any cracks in the pavement.
