Well he wrote them all by hand so I am not sure if there is a font style.

There are some programs about Wainwright on BBC4 at the moment (he is rather a hero of mine).

Yes I know the books were hand written but I have seen fonts simulating hand writing. There is a font called Wainwright but it is for Posters and nothing like it this Guide Book Example

It is a bit like a well spaced out Comic Sans isnt it ?
Hi go to a search engine and type Font Creator Program 4.1 you can download a trial version (free). Once it is installed follow the tutorial which is pretty straight forward. Having messed with it for 5 mins i found that you can scan a sample of handwriting (in your case Wainwright) and create a font. Hope this helps. SID

Sjoerd,

No I didnt find one. Still looking !
Oh darn. Heh heh I was hoping that you had had success. Well, I downloaded and installed the FONT CREATOR as Sid suggested, but I have to say that after well more than five minutes it was not apparant how, exactly I could create a font from a scanned bit of Wainwright's text. I will keep looking into it, though. I think that the font would go well on my website, although it would probably mean that I would have to make the text blocks images if I wanted othere to be able to see it.
I find the terminology of the Font Creator program a bit daunting, though...it's a pity that it doesn't exist in Dutch. Ha ha ha.
Thanks for your response,
Sjoerd

Thank you very much, Sarah. I have downloaded it and can use that until someone creates an Alfred Wainwright font. That font isn't too bad at all, is it?
Thanks again,
Sjoerd
