Anyone else watched this tonight? I'd be interested in what you thought. Also, did it have an odd effect on anyone?

I watched it and thought that it was very good

It did leave me with the that i wished that that happened to me... but never get caught lol.
Nah, i would have probably have been like the last man, wouldn't have done anything to nick that money.

But it was still very good!

Yes, I now have an overwhelming urge to pull a surgical pop-sock over my head & go and steal Twix bars. :-)

That wasn't quite what I meant Robinia! :-)

The bit where they thought they were giving electric shocks - I had a panic attack (and no, I'm not prone to them). I'm a bit odd about electric shocks anyway, but I think it was more the whole idea of it - how can ordinary people do that??? It really shook me up. Daft I know.

Apart from that, I thought it was great. Interesting idea certainly.
Sorry Mistopheles I couldn't resist being daft!
Yes it was actually interesting & I'd very much like to think I wouldn't have given anyone an electric shock, even a small one, and neither would I have stolen anything - I feel guilty in shops if the security person so much as looks my way! I've no idea how people can be brainwashed either, but these are a certain type I suppose who are ambitious & not over sensitive about what they have to do to succeed. Along with hypnotism their boundaries were stretched - I wonder how they'll fare at any future interviews if they are recognised?
He just did his usual trick of choosing the most suggestable and gullible people.
I have to say that I LOVE Derren Brown..his cheeky little smile, the naughty/amused look in his eyes! Could judt be a mind trick but I think he is loverly!
You know they weren't really giving the shocks don't you Mistopheles?
I think that somewhere in their brains something would be going " this is England, not Iraq, this wouldn't be allowed here, not for any reason, it must be a trick". Dontcha think? I know I would think that and carry on with it!!
I wanna learn those memory tricks though!! Oh and snog Derren...hehehe : )
I think he stretched the whole proceedure just for the sake of the show....I believe he could have planted the suggestion in a few minutes..... anyway ....thought the robbing sweets was more peer pressure than anything else......
very good. i love all his stuff. The only thing that bugs me about The Heist is, if you were given a gun and then were told to bring it with you to the final meeting, wouldnt you put it in a ruck sack or bag, rather than having it in your jacket or pocket, ???? Eespcially in london
It is a TV programme afterall. The outcome is pretty much a certainty. No TV company would pay for a programme that clearly didn't work! and I'm sure there's an awful lot of kidoligy on the part of the "random selection of participants".
I have to say i ddint watch it - i'm convinced all derren brown things are a complete hoax. They were all actors, its not real
What was the name of the experiment where people gave out electric shocks? Can't remember, and it's bugging me..
The Milgram experiment Supernick.
