Would like to know who the Landlords were and any tidbits of info from 1911 census back to 1841, if possible.

On the 1891 the landlord at the Anchor, Seatown, Chideock, Dorset is Samuel Robert Farwell, age 62 born chideock, dorset, his wife is Annie Rose Farwell aged 67 born Jamaica. Annie Rose Farwell nee Greenwood late Foss, and her first husband Joseph Foss b 1800 chideock were the innkeepers of the anchor in 1881, 1871,and 1861, in 1841 he was a fishmonger in seatown but can't find the inn in 1841 nor him or his family and the inn in 1851.

Many many thanks DJ. Most helpful.
Nice one Zacs
Hmmmmmmm ......................... ;)
I have actually stayed at the caravan park there and eaten in the Anchor at Seatown - lovely place.
anything to do with your family?
I've not got to the 1891 onwards yet as had lots to do zac but i'll have a look tomorrow after work, it's a difficult one as being a hamlet last century it merges into other districts, for anyone else who can get to look, it comes in the same RD as Chideock.
1901 the Innkeeper was John Watts aged 44, with his wife Eliza aged 39, and his son Frederick John aged 17 and daughter Lilian Madge aged 8.
1911 Eliza is the Innkeeper as John has died.
ahhh i think the foss clan had a daughter eliza,
I think he married Eliza Madge Rolstone in 1883, purely because of the daughter's name. (there's a lot of John Watts)
yes could be, the Eliza Foss I found in 1861 living with her parents at the anchor, died there in 1863 aged 17.

Most interesting. Thankyou again.
what is also interesting is that Eliza's older sister Jane Foss cam up here to Lancashire as a domestic nurse by 1871, living in Prestwich near Manchester, not traced what happened to her after that though, but it's along way from home.
jospeh foss didn't have any children with second wife anne rose merrilees greensword, they married in salsbury cathedral in 1860, his first wife was ann dodge married in 1823 and they had 12 children .
only 4 of the children lived longer than their parents by the look of it, the majority died in the late teens or early 20s
