Wasn't sure where to put this so I thought I would just put it where it is busiest :)

Trying to book a holiday and the hotel that we are intersested in has windsurfing which is something that my boys are very interested in - they have done a few trial sessions so have a little bit of experience but obviously not a great deal.

The hotel says that windsurfing is available with licence - I've sent them an email but haven't had a response yet and I'm keen to get booked.

Does anyone have any idea what the licence could be and if this is something that they could do in the resor? There are no dacilities do do lessons anywhere near home before we go.

is this abroard, if it is then it probably means with travel insurance that covers the surfer and that the wind surfing instructor is licensed and adequate liability insurance too, similar to a dive instructor.

Oh thanks everyone - looks like that is not going to happen then :( Might as well look at somewhere cheaper as no point going if they can't use the facilities that they want to.
the link anne posted was german, where abouts are you thinking of going, it is probably just meaning the instructor and equioment has to be passed and licensed and there will be a local license available similar to the form you fill in and sign before going diving on holiday
you just need ti check there is a RYA symbol on the resorts site.

It's Greece dotty but the kids are only 12 and 11 (well, eldest will be 13 by the time we come home) so I don't want to book and turn up for them to be dsappointed, in that case I 'd rather book somewhere else that has it or doesn't at all.

Think I'll have to wait/chase up the hotel for a response.
look at the last link i put up, it's probably what you need
oh dear, the free tuition is only for over 13s annie, that's a shame. perhaps the paid tuition has a younger age range?

I'll have a good look at it after I have done the school pick up Dot. I think it would be even worse if one could do it (after his birthday) and the other couldn't. He will turn 12 just after we get back but will still be 11 for the holiday.

Thank you so much for all your help.
